The Council of the City of Philadelphia is pleased and privileged to honor and recognize Hands of Woodstock Inc.- Fathers of the Community and celebrate their 5th Annual Book Bag Giveaway and Street Fair. 

 

Whereas, Based in North Philadelphia, Hands of Woodstock Inc. is a nonprofit made up of a group of young me rolling up their sleeves for the purpose of giving back to and engaging with their community; and

 

Whereas, Over the last five years, HOW has worked tirelessly to achieve this mission. In addition to personal employment and family obligations, Hands of Woodstock has held an annual book bag drive and a Christmas drive to struggling families, all out of their own pockets; and

 

Whereas, In 2019, Hands of Woodstock, Inc. formally incorporated as not-for-profit, which will allow it to expand service and support to the community. This year, they received their very first grant from a Philadelphia Foundation donor advised fund; and 

 

Whereas, All Philadelphians are extremely lucky to have such dedicated community servants working to improve the lives of their neighbors. We are thankful for each member’s  contribution to the works of the Hands of Woodstock Inc. over the past several years. Their determination to give back to their community and make a positive impact on the lives of others is awe inspiring and worthy of great distinction.

 

Therefore, By virtue of this citation, the Council of the City of Philadelphia do hereby honor each individual for their diligent work as a member of Hands of Woodstock Inc.- Fathers of the Community and celebrate them on the occasion if their 5th Annual Book Bag Giveaway and Street Fair. We in this Council extend the sincere respect and admiration of this legislative body.
